And it’s definitely a top-notch experience, all things considered. Yeah, I played it last year so it was probably as polished as it’s going to be. Like in both games, if I can't be anywhere from where the npcs come from and where there's civilization and community there's not worth fighting and living.Įdit: Thanks everyone for your recommendations. Just like with Dark Souls, I felt that the first person to give up is probably gonna be me. I gave up as everything started to feel like a chore and it made me realize that if I ever found myself in such a situation I would lack the determination to survive. I found this alienating as I found no point in creating a cozy and elegant base who no one will get visit. As you progress through the game's story you uncover just stories of death while working through your own survival struggles. In Subnautica you're alone on an alien planet. The environment is decrepit and oppressive and it seems that you're the only one that can find the strength not to eventually succumb to despair. I was never able to get into Dark Souls because there are very few friendly NPCs to interact with. On the other end of the spectrum, I have a tenuous relation with games that cultivate loneliness. For example, my favorite moment in The Witcher 3 is the snowball fight with Ciri. Similarly, I appreciate when the games add unique scenes and interactions. It's just fun to hear the banter in the background while you quest. I love it even more so when in crpgs, they interact with each other, not just with you, like they do in the Dragon Age trilogy. The reason why I am attracted to rpgs is because I like travelling with other and love how often throughout your journey they can become your friends, even love interests. I am playing Fallout 4 and despite the comments your companions on the road being pretty repetitive, I realize I cannot venture in the Commonwealth without someone having my back.
